A trading board game for the table you already have

Karobar (कारोबार, Hindi for trade) is a property-trading board game you play online. Roll across 22 cities from Mumbai to Tokyo, buy them, build on them and deal with the players around you. Play with friends or against bots, free, in your browser.

  1. One

    A table for your friends

Open a private room and share its six-letter code. Up to six players join from any phone, tablet or computer, and every move shows up for everyone as it happens.

  2. Two

    Every deed gets sold

Turn a city down and it goes straight to a sealed-bid auction. Everyone bids once, in secret, and the winner pays the second-highest bid plus a small step.

  3. Three

    News that moves rents

Each Quarter opens with a headline that raises or cuts rents across a Circuit. When cash runs short, the Karobar Bank lends against your net worth.

Is Karobar free to play with friends?

Yes. It runs in the browser with no account, no download and no adverts. Start a private room and send the code or the link to your friends.

How is it different from Monopoly?

The core is familiar: roll, buy cities, build and trade. A Quick game ends at the Closing Bell after a set number of Quarters, so it takes 30 to 50 minutes. Unbought deeds go to auction, the bank lends against your holdings, and each Quarter brings a headline that shifts rents.

Can I play alone against bots?

Yes. "Play now" seats you with three bots straight away. In a private room the host can add Easy, Normal or Hard bots to any empty seat.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The table rearranges into one column on a phone, with the board across the full width and your turn right under it.

How do the auctions work?

Every player places one secret bid. The highest bid wins but pays only the second-highest bid plus a small increment, never more than its own bid. So the best bid is simply what the city is worth to you.
